Central Government has sanctioned construction of three lakh 21 thousand 567 cheap houses in 14 states including Haryana, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme – urban cost of 18 thousand 203 crores for the urban poor.
The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said that this approval was given in the 32nd meeting of the Union Allocation and Monitoring Committee held in late evening late last evening.
These houses will be built in 523 cities across the country. The Central Government has 70 thousand 671 in Haryana, 59 thousand 929 in West Bengal, 54 thousand 821 in Rajasthan, 39 thousand 683 in Uttar Pradesh, 35 thousand 851 in Gujarat, 15 thousand 798 in Mizoram, 11 thousand 941 in Karnataka, 10 thousand in Maharashtra 649, 5426 in Madhya Pradesh, 8154 in Bihar, 5073 in Kerala, 3345 in Himachal Pradesh, 176 in Punjab and 60 houses in Goa.
